Young Heroes: Louis Braille (Open Caption / Audio Description)

June 10 by DCMP.org

This great video dramatizes the life of Louis Braille. It includes the events that caused him to become blind in his youth. It illustrates the development of the Braille System, which he created in 1824 at the age of 15. We learn how his braille system was first rejected and even banned at the Royal Institute for Blind Youth where he attended school and was later employed as a teacher. This video is an excellent example of the proper use of Open Captioning and Audio Description.
